Bpifrance is the French sovereign wealth fund and aims at supporting sustainable growth, employment and competitiveness of the French economy. On July 2016, Bpifrance invested EUFR 95m into MédiPôle Partenaires, the #3 private hospital group in France at that time, to finance both the group organic and external growth strategies. Bpifrance thus became a major shareholder alongside Bridgepoint which then remained the group’s majority shareholder.
In June 2017, Elsan completed the acquisition of MédiPôle Partenaires. With this acquisition, Elsan will generate a turnover of around EUR 2.0bn. Through their historical regional implantations, the two groups form together a highly complementary network of healthcare facilities combining proximity and quality of service. The combination of the two groups would enable accelerated investment in therapeutical and technological innovation and in the development of more integrated healthcare pathways for patients.
